spring brings...

the drive in theater.

hot chocolate in a thermos and popcorn with dots-two of the greatest things when you are sitting in a warm truck, chair reclined and cuddling with the three most important *boys in your life, watching a double feature.

warm weather brings...

warm weather activities

i feel like ALL of my pictures look just like this one...but for some reason i just can't get enough of them!! Trenton is growing up into a "big" boy right in front of my eyes, and i feel like i should "capture" each moment in pictures!!

He hasn't rode his two-wheeled scooter in what seems like forever since the move to the big bike so when we were doing some outdoor: cleaning, gardening, etc. he rode it on the sidewalk-he gets going pretty fast since it wraps all the way around the side (corner lot). Not very often do i get a good smile either..now that he is getting bigger it is getting harder and harder---these days they are always cheesy ones!!

Soo close to 5 months old--and SOO alert! He now stays awake for almost our whole walk now. He also absolutely adores his big brother..which i am so ecstatic about. That is what i always pictured when i thought about having another little boy. He gives us such big smiles, kisses, and giggles! Brightens up our gloomy no-sun Oregon days!

todays projects are...

the beginnings of a blankie, i still need to put a backing fabric on it and some binding around the edges!!

and ... three soft blocks they were the first set that i have EVER made. you can kind of tell-but i still LOVE them they are too cute!!

free ebook....

My friend, Sarah Mae, recently released an ebook, 31 Days to Clean: Having a Martha House the Mary Way. I can’t wait to dive into my copy next week and hope to do a review soon.

But I had to go ahead and tell you about this ebook because Sarah Mae is giving it away today. To get a free copy, you just have to post about the ebook on your blog or on Facebook or Twitter and link to her site. Email her with the link to your post and she’ll send you a free copy!

Thanks, The Modest Mom!

Elephant Ears...

Elephant Ear Recipe-

so i don't make the dough from scratch...(first yeast dough and me don't always work well together)

So i use those frozen dinner roll balls

First-oil at 375 degrees. Just put a few rolls(or however many you need) in a greased backing dish preferably 13x9 the night before you need them made. Let rise overnight punching down occasionally. When about as big as the picture it's time to start pulling the dough apart. Cover with greased saran wrap.

i have really no method to the pull-apart...i try to keep them somewhat small because they will continue to rise as you work.

start to make discs..stretch and squish..don't worry about making them the full size yet. after about ten or so minutes squish and stretch again.

Get your paper lined pan ready for when they come out of the oil..

Slowly lower down into the oil. they will pop back up once they go in.
Turn over after a couple minutes.

Butter and cinnamon/sugar imediately after coming out of oil

ENJOY!!!

life has just been happening...

way too fast!!

Feels like it has been FOREVER since i have posted anything...these last two months have been a whirl-wind of teaching, learning, accepting, comforting, compromising, cooking, cleaning, walking, and loving-
Tyson turned 30 at the end of February, i turned 25 at the beginning of March.

Brayton has been growing at what seems like record proportions, started eating rice cereal at 3 months..we had i think ONE nice day out of the whole month of March and we were outside the WHOLE day!!

He was in the johnny jump up..he LOVED it--all he wants to do is sit straight up. NO laying down, or leaning back..STRAIGHT up!

We had some pictures taken of the boys at jcpenneys..they turned out super cute except Trenton didn't want to listen at all--

We are going to have actual FAMILY pictures taken i believe in May of June--just waiting for Brayton to get a little bigger!!

Speaking of Brayton getting bigger he is FOUR months old already!! Crazy how fast time flies.

now he stays awake for some of our walk-(not the whole thing of course) but usually the end of it he looks around at all the trees, houses, and doggies.
